Some medications require regular laboratory testing to ensure they're building up the correct levels in your bloodstream. Singleton Healing Center has a fully-equipped blood and specimen collection laboratory for patients who need testing.

How does my physician determine what laboratory tests to order?

Considering information obtained from your medical history, a recent examination, and your current symptoms, your provider will prescribe specific tests to gather additional relevant clinical information that assists in forming a diagnosis.

Where can I go to provide a sample for testing?

Our facilities have onsite medical staff who are capable of drawing blood, collecting urine, or extracting tissue for analysis in the laboratory.

What happens to my sample once I have provided it?

Your sample will be labeled with your name, date of birth, and one other unique identifier. Our team carefully reviews samples to ensure accurate patient identification, proper sample type and volume. Technicians and/or technologists with specific training for each test type then prepare the samples for testing in the appropriate laboratory department. Once completed, results are electronically transmitted to physician and patient portals.

How long does testing typically take before results are available?

Anticipate hearing from our team within 3-5 business days. Additionally, certain specialty tests may have longer processing times, and your provider can provide information on whether your tests fall into any of these categories.

What does an abnormal lab result value mean?

A normal range of lab values is determined by aggregating test results from a large sample of healthy individuals. When your own test results deviate from these expected ranges, it is important to discuss with your provider the implications of the abnormal value for your current health condition.
